Havering Museum wins London 2012 AwardWith less than 200 days to go before the start of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Countdown has begun at Havering Museum. The Museum's "Havering's Sporting Heroes" Exhibition, due to be launched at the end of June, has been granted permission to use the official London 2012 Inspire mark. The London 2012 Inspire programme recognises innovative and exciting projects that are directly inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Havering's Sporting Heroes Exhibition will highlight sportsmen and women from the 1948 Olympic Games to the present day who have achieved greatness in their own particular fields and helped to inspire people to participate and support sport in the Borough. Seb Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, said of this partnership: "The Inspire programme is ensuring the legacy of the 2012 Games starts now as projects like "Havering's Sporting Heroes" at Havering Museum are enabling people in Havering to make positive life changes." |
