Schools Visits
Our aim is to celebrate local history and develop the knowledge, skills and understanding of our young visitors. We can provide school sessions at the museum that fit with topics in the national curriculum. However, we are not tied to a specific curriculum, so tell us what you have in mind and we will see if we can create a tailor made visit.
The topics currently available to schools are:
- Romans
- Victorians/ Victorian school children
- Local history including invaders and royalty
- World War 2
Loan Boxes
The Museum has a collection of themed loan boxes containing assorted original and replica handling and show-and-tell artefacts. These can be hired to support classroom learning, talks and other organised events.
Our boxes:
- Archaeology
- The First World War
- The Second World War
- Traditional Toys
- Victorian School
Our Collections & Exhibitions Team may also be able to produce a tailored box if required.

If you want to book a visit or a talk at the museum please email us at info@haveringmuseum.org.uk
We charge for our visits and talks and will give you a price when you contact the museum. We have some sponsorship for specific projects and sometimes we can do a session or talk free of charge. The museum is run entirely by volunteers and everything we earn goes to keeping the museum open for everyone to enjoy.
