Havering Museum volunteers on keeping heritage alive in Romford
Ann Young and Ellen Owen head up the team of volunteers at Havering Museum – an independently run and funded site in Romford.
“People don’t realise how much work and money it is to do what we do,” she said.
“Everything from heating to lighting and cleaning – we have to do it and fund it all.”
The museum opened in 2010 in the former Romford Brewery Sports and Social Club.
