Ivor Cameron (1928 – 2020)

IVOR CAMERON –
APRIL 1928 – AUGUST 2020

It is with great sadness that we report  Ivor Cameron, a founder-member and long-serving Director of Havering Museum  died recently of COVID-19.

Not only did Ivor make invaluable contributions to the Museum for many years, but served the people of Havering in various capacities since he was first elected to the Council in 1990 and represented Hacton Ward for 16 years before standing down in May  2006.

As a Councillor, Ivor served on Havering’s Corporate Services, Development and Transportation, Education, Environment and Licensing and Governance Committees.

In 1996, Ivor was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship by the Dagenham Rotary Club for his tremendous services to the community. He also elected Mayor of Havering from 1996-1997.

All at the Museum send their condolences to Ivor’s wife Eileen and all his family. He will be greatly missed by all at the Museum and his many friends who were proud to have known him.
