Mine’s a Pint! – A Special Visitor.

The Museum welcomed a very special visitor to the Mine’s a Pint exhibition on Saturday 8 March.

Susan Haines is a descendant of Elizabeth Ind, the younger sister of Edward Ind, who founded the Romford Brewery in 1799. A resident of West Sussex, Sue heard about the exhibition while researching her family history in Burton-Upon-Trent, and visited the Museum especially to see it. Matthew Abel and Chloe Branwhite, of the exhibition team, showed her around and helped her discover more about her famous family business and it’s important place in Havering’s history.

Sue said afterwards, “I so enjoyed my visit to the museum last Saturday and meeting up with [Matthew] and Chloe and finding out more about the brewing industry and the Inds in Romford.”

Matthew added, “Meeting a member of the Ind Family was very exciting and I’m glad that we were able to help Sue with her research.”

The exhibition runs until Saturday 22nd March.
