Unearthing Havering

As part of the “Unearthing Havering” sessions run by the Museum of London in Havering this December, we were pleased to have Adam Corsini from the Museum of London join us in Havering Museum on 7th December. Adam and his team were in force all day with a fun trail for families to take part in. Children and adults were able to visit the different areas of the museum where the volunteeers from the Museum of London had set up stands with archaeological finds from the Havering and London area. Children were able to complete a challenge to become “Official Archaeologists” and our Hedgehog club enjoyed following the trail around the museum. Also Adam set up an archaeological dig site in our learning zone where the children learnt about the different artefacts discovered by archaeologists and the techniques used. The Hedgehogs had a great time learning from Adam and his team and particulary enjoyed handling the skulls that were  on display.
